Washington’s Crossing:
The Rest of the Story

Saturday, October 12th, 2019, 2:00 PM-3:00 PM
WASHINGTON CROSSING STATE PARK VISITOR’S CENTER, 355 WASHINGTON CROSSING-PENNINGTON ROAD, TITUSVILLE, NJ 08560

The painting — Washington’s Crossing Christmas 1776 by Emanuel Leutze — could not have done better at capturing the spirit of 1776. BUT, how did the cannons, horses, and wagons get across the Delaware on that fateful night?

Come join your neighbors to hear the answer! We’ll also examine the value and limitations of paintings in understanding history, and we’ll discuss the operation of river ferries.

This event is FREE to all!
